Hey guys. I'm in the market for a gaming keyboard and gaming mouse. I'm wondering what are some good options for around $50 each? I also would like to know your guy's opinions on switches. Which are your favorite and why? I know everyone is different but I'm very curious to know. Finally, since I am unexperienced with gaming peripherals, is there anything specific I should look for when finding a gaming keyboard/mouse? How about any bad brands? I'd gladly take any advice. Thanks!

First off, I love blues because they soud great and provide a good bump for great typing and they are pretty good for games too. They are a little light for me, but I havn't been able to try greens. For $58 you can get blues from mono prie, cheapest mechanincal you will find regulary Mouse is a littl more personal. Do you claw grip or palm grip? How big are our hands? Do you like a lot of buttons or few? MMOs and rpg or twitch. I lovmy g600, more than my old dathadder for twitch even. I alm grip and have medium ands on amazn thats about $60.

If you're looking into switches as in mechanical switches, a $50 budget may be hard to find.  Your best bet would be Cooler Master Quickfire Rapids.  They are tenkeyless, if you don't mind that and they often go on sale for $60-70 with $15-20 rebates.

If I were you, I'd budget ~$70 for keyboard and ~$30 for mouse.

Mouse is harder to recommend because it is all about feel/grip.  Pretty much any gaming mouse has a good enough sensor, the DPI count on sensors is just for marketing, because 10,000 DPI is just silly to begin with.

Look for the Monoprice mechanical KB, it's between 50 to 60USD IIRC. Or, a CM Quick Fire Rapid Cherry Blue for 70USD with rabate card.

As for mouse, well, as long as it has 2000dpi and higher, it should be fine. Something cheap and good, a CM Xornet which I'd gotten for my 3rd rig, I play faced paced FPS with it, like UT3, and it's perfectly fine.

This is not definitive, wait for suggestions/recommendations from others....and please, do try totry out the various switches, like Red/Black/Blue/Brown before deciding.

A good mouse for your price point would be a g400s it is built well for both palm and claw grip and is overall a good value http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G400s-Optical-Gaming-910-003589/dp/B00BCEK2LA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374031569&sr=8-1&keywords=g500s
