WLAN: Issues ans ethernet

Hello everyone,

it has been over 8 months, I was trying to connect my PC to the laptop to play minecraft LAN or WLAN. Everytime it says these dreaded words "java.net.connectException connection timed out." I have exactly the same ver. of minecraft and java installed on both systems. I have allowed Java SE. through the firewalls, and even reinstalled windows on both systems. I can't figure out broadband's internal firewall.

I have a D-link modem and I am using ethernet on PC and wifi on laptop. Please help me out.

Other information :

Laptop : win 7 home basic

PC : Win 7 ultimate

Also, When I open to lan from the PC, It automatically detects the server on the laptop but not the other way round.

try hooking both up with ethernet

Or try hooking both of the devices up with wifi. It could just be a simple communication issue so if you can try what mr rogers said up above and then try both with wifi. It this doesn't work I suggest you look into your routers' settings and try to open up some ports for minecraft on PC for both of the devices. There are ALOT of tutorials on how to do this. Good luck!
