Upgrade CPU or New Build?

Go to solution Solved by lx_srs,

Should I start saving to build a new P.C or upgrade the CPU in my existing one? The build is quite old, and I'm not sure if it's worth it keeping the motherboard going.

EVGA Gtx 760 - GPU

MSI NF980-G65 - MB

8gb 1333mhz ram - RAM

AMD Phenom ii x4 965 black 3.4ghz - CPU

Upgrade your CPU and motherboard, the rest of your PC should be just fine for a while

I would definitely upgrade to something Intel like an I5 or an I3.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

That's what I was thinking as well, thanks for the opinion :)

If you are just wanting to game then at the moment Intel is definitely the way to go for a build.

I also use adobe after effects and sony vegas sometimes to do some video editing. Would an i5 around $200 be okay for this? Something like the i5-4570 or i5-4670?

An I5 would be ok for it all though an I7 would perform much better but it's about $100 more expensive.
