Windows 8.1 Printer Issues

So, my father upgraded to windows 8.1 and it's been working well, but every time he print something, the printer stops responding after the first print. The only solution I've found is to unplug and replug in the printer after each print.

Does anyone else have this issue and is there any solution?

CPU: AMD FX 8320e | Mobo: Gigabyte GA‑78LMT‑USB3 | Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper n520 | RAM: 8Gb @ 1333MHz

 

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 mITX | PSU: Antec HCG 520w | Storage: Sandisk 120GB - WD Red 1TB | Case: Modded IBM A50 sleeper

Some HP Deskjet printer.
