So im doing my first build a PC, and i was going to go with the main big setup. (i7 4790k, 16gb ram, GTX 970, etc) but i found another GTX 970 that seems to be better but is not as good with cooling.  im fairly new to this stuff but i have learned a bit, but if someone can tell me whats better and maybe some pros and cons with the two, that would be great.  The two cards are the "EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked"  and the "Asus GeForce GTX 970 strix".  Any help would be appreciated.

both are very good cards, personally i would lean toward Evga just because i think it looks nicer, but you wont be dissapointed by either

Both are great, EVGA is better for overclocking.

If you don't plan on doing that then just go with whatever you think looks better/is cheaper.

I an not bothered by any looks, they both look great.  but it seems that more people like the EVGA 970.  the EVGA is 10$ more which does not bother me, and it has .06 more Ghz which im sure that wont effect it at all.  The strix has a "zero decibel cooling" (which means the fan does not go on until its needed).  i know at this point its up to me most likely.  I am thinking of switching to the EVGA but will it have what the strix has, and or better? with its zero decibel cooling, Third generation delta color compression, and Dynamic Super Resolution? (4k looks at 1080p).  im mainly wondering about the dynamic super resolution.

It will have all of those things.

"zero decibel cooling" Just means that the fans don't spin until it hit's a certain temperature. which is a Maxwell (GTX 9xx) feature, not an Asus one.
