Quick laptop ram compatibility question

Hello,

 

I have lots of experience with desktops but none with laptops, sorry for the noob question.

Cousin has an Asus A54C that came with 4gb 1333mhz module installed with a free slot to upgrade to 8gb.

Voltage and latency of the module inside the laptop are unknown, UEFI does not tell either.

 

Question is: will it be okay if I install a 4gb 1600mhz module in the free slot?

 

A dude sells one for dirt cheap.

Try calling up Asus, I'm sure they can answer your question about voltage and latency, you don't want to get a stick of RAM, even if it is  "dirt cheap" and find out it doesn't work, but if you don't want to call up, I'm sure swarms of members will come to your assistance.
