So I have decided to build a gaming machine on a budget of $800CAD. I would like the system to have the following to ensure cool running temps, quiet operation and allow me to upgrade in the future. I would also like to purchase a USED graphics card to save some moneys. I would like to try my hand at some minor over clocking as well.

This will be my first fully custom PC build so any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated.

CASE: NZXT Source 340 ATX case in white

PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750w 80+

MOBO: Asus Z97-A, LGA1150, ATX

CPU:Intel Pentium G3258 Anniversary Unlocked Dual Core 3.2GHZ, LGA1150

RAM: Corsair Vengeance pro gold, 16gb, DDR3-2400

GPU: undecided

SSD1: M.2 128gb (for OS and such)

SSD2: 2.5mm Kingston 120gb

SSD3: (empty until later)

HDD: WesternDigital Blue 1TB, 7200rpm

COOLING: corsair siedon single rad single fan AIO water cooler, and a couple case fans.

G3258 with a Z97 and 16GB of Vengeance Pro Gold is way unbalanced.

Gives you $150 for a used GPU which you can pick up a 7950-7970 (or 280/X), they are great cards for gaming.

Only reason I chose that ram is to color coordinate xD and the CPU is just a cheap until I can get something better as with a monitor and perferals its going to set me back about $1000-$1200

Edited my post (refresh the page)

For $650 without GPU, you can get a much better build with a great CPU now instead of having to upgrade later on.

Just seen that, my main concern is obliteration of a nice CPU while learning to OC properly, I don't want to have a dead $300 CPU laying around because I did something wrong, think of it as a learning implement I guess, like I mentioned first true custom build so I'm kind of a noon when it comes to picking stuff out:) and the case is cheaper on NCIX :P

i5-4440 isn't for OCing anyways as it's a locked chip. However it's already an excellent performer out of the box and will last you for many years to come.

You can only destroy a CPU by deliberately running excessive voltage through it, it's not something that is accidental.
