Hello, I have jus upgraded from a amd 8320 that was overclocked to 4.7 ghz and would hit a max temp of 40c with prime95 to a intel 4790k that just idling hits 64c. I also have sli 780's and they are 23c. I have two 480 rads, 1 360 rad, 1 240 rad, and 1 120 rad. The only thing that has changed in the loop is the cpu, motherboard, and the cpu block. These temps are crazy with my system so any help will be much appreciated!!!

maybe try re-seating the cpu block and re-applying thermal paste?

Bad thermal compound maybe? Or if you are sure that it's not the problem try (if possible) testing with the old CPU block. Just so you can get some idea where the problem is. Is the 4790k at stock settings?

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

i rest the block and found one of the stands had come loose temps went down but i am still in the 40's jus idling. That is what i was getting under max load on my old amd. I don't believe it is the paste. I cant check the old block on this build because it is intel now the old build was amd. yes it is not overclocked it is at factory settings.
