CPU Help

Go to solution Solved by Atmos,

If you're not cooling, just get a cheap air unit. Water cooling is generally only for high overclocking. With a case that big you can easily fit a hyper 212 evo which is a legendary cooler.

And as for the ram, you won't need more case fans what you have is fine. And as for the GPU sli is for Nvidia, crossfire is for amd. If you plan to upgrade GPU wise I would really rec. Not getting a second 270x,but getting something like a 280x or cheap 290,that way you don't have to deal with cfx scaling and the occasional bug.

Hi all, this is my first post so sorry if I get it wrong,

I recently just after Christmas built my first computer with the specs,

AMD 6300 six core 3.5ghz

R9 270X sapphire

HyperX Beast 2133 dual channel 2x4gb kit

NZXT phantom 410 case with the 3 stock fans

Corsair CX600W PSU

Asus M5A99X EVO 2.0

2TB HDD

Optical drive

TP Connect wireless card

I am currently using the stock heat sink and up until now it's been ok with idle temps of 47c, but recently the fans have been running at max on idle and when I have been running light games of tf2 it has been turning off randomly. So I checked the temps while on boot up after about the 10th cut out in a month and the temps were at 67c, I thought that that was hot, it currently sits next to my desk with about 2" on each side and good airflow. My room temps are the normal, so I have no Idea why it's cutting out as it's not a power cut and can only think that it's getting too hot. Any suggestions? And I'm planning in getting a new heat-sink but can't find one that's not too big, looks good and is reasonably priced, I won't be over clocking. I was thinking a corsair water cooling all in one unit would be good what do you think. I'm so thankful if you can help, thanks a lot. And lastly planning on adding a second of the same kit of ram and another graphics card in sli, will I be needing more case fans for this?
