New pc stuck on windows update at shutdown

So I was shutting down my new computer (pre-built, only gonna be used for surfing and video watching), and it is stuck on shutdown. Been on "update 1 of 53" for about an hour now. What do I do? Windows 8.1.

ok than leave your pc to be there for ever problem solved?

pull the power, then when you reboot, press f8 and boot to last known good config

 

problem should solve itself
