I have an i5 4690k clocked at 4.2ghz, as well as a 750ti which I will be replacing with a 970 ssc

I have 1 ssd, 1 hdd

16gb ddr3

450w power supply (cs model - gold)

Will this work with 450w? I'm doing calcs online and it's saying 350w recommended, just want to double check.

- Already know 750ti works obviously, but want to know if everything else plus the 970 will work

Nvidia recommend a minimum of a 500W PSU for the GTX 970.

The 450W should be fine, but I would personally get something larger. If you want to get an SLI config then I'd upgrade to a 650-750W PSU. Or if you move to something like an R9 290(X), I'd want at least 650W. 450W doesn't give huge growing room for the future.

Also consider that as the rating of a PSU goes up, so usually does the quality of said PSU.

As a side not, I've got the EVGA SuperNova 650W G1. It's really solid and is modular, making your build look super clean.
