HI

i am thinking of overclocking my Computer to increase the performance

I am not trying to get the best possible benchmark scores.

I am more interested in increasing the performance, because i mainly render videos on this computer and want to increase the speed,

So my goal is to increase the speed for working, so that overclock "make sense" and isn't just because i can have 500 more Mhz

I have an

Intel i7 4930k Prozessor,
Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 Motherboard,
and 2x 8GB Corsair Dominator CMP16GX3M2X1866C9  1866 Mhz 10-9-10-27 Timing's

Im am new to Overclocking and only overclocked once an old AMD Phenom IIx4 a bit (just increased the Clock speed)

So my first question is : would i benefit of overclocking the RAM or the Timings ??
After ram overclocking how much to overclock teh CPU
Yould the northbridge should be overclocked too ?

How much more realistic usable performance could i theoreticaly achive by doing some overclocking ??

And the biggest question : where to start ??

But before thinking of doing the overclocking i would like to have some pro or cons on should i overclock and how much would my performance benefit of this

-- sorry for my crappy english

well for a start your ram timings should be 9-10-9-27. i would lower the ram speed to 1333mhz then set your cpu voltage to 1.3v and your base clock to 125mhz. that should get you 4.25ghz with the multiplier set at 34.

This are my timings now ..

Why decrease the memory speed ???

Can i damage something with overvolting ??

Ho much could i get out of my CPU with "normal" voltage ?
