Hey s i just got the Sennheiser Momentum On Ear headphones as the title says.

I was so excited and first thing i did was plugged them into my phone (HTC m8) and played my favorite song (Blackbird by Alter Bridge) and they sounded meh. Like the sound stage was a ways away from be and just hallow sounding. Not really enjoyable... I don't know why? Some one help please :)

Well first you need to burn em in so leave them playing a song for around 48 hours. (Then if they still don't sound good use a amp with your desktop.)

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

Im primary using them with my phone. Is there an app to help buring in? lol

No burning them in is just playing audio through them. Like breaking in a new pair of sneakers. Just leave it running overnight for a few nights. PC or phone. Leaving it  on your PC is more convenient.

Try the headphone with other sources, like MP3 players, PC, laptop, etc. If it sounds good, then there's nothing wrong with the headphone itself. If it sounds just as bad, then it's better to RMA it.

Hollow sounding, like hearing faint singing from a long tunnel, might be because the left and right polarities are 'shorted' due to the contacts meet not at their designated positions, between the plug and the jack.

Naturally make sure if the plug is inserted all the way in the jack. Then try turning the plug while pulling it just a tad, maybe 1-2mm. This helps in most cases.

Headphones do not need burning in, contrary to what lots of people believed. There's even measurement data that a headphone's measured sound is practically the same before and after burning in. Got some changes, but only can be seen on sensitive measurement devices. Certainly not 'night and day difference', and certainly won't cure OP's hollow sounding problem.

People got wacky ideas of how bad a digital audio file source could sound.

Have you ever heard of FM radio stations? That's as bad as an audio will sound nowadays.

Stop overthinking and try plugging it to other sources to test it out.
