Good gigabit network stuff

I currently have a 100 MPbs network. I plan on starting a Youtube channel and buying a 2 bay NAS later on. Can anyone suggest a good low profile PCI/PCIe gigabit network card? My computer is a Dell Inspiron 530s. Also, can anyone recommended a good switch? It would only need to be four ports at max. I would need Amazon links. Thanks!

Your PC only supports up to 100mbps, so I'd suggest a PCI adapter such as this or this, and if you don;t have one already, make sure you have a network switch compatible of utilizing 1gbps, such as the TP-Link SG1005 (a low cost solution), and also you'll need 10/100/1000 ethernet ports in the NAS machine (if not just get more gigabit PCI adapters).

 

For connectivity you should use anything from Cat5e upwards (as lower cost solutions will be a bottleneck). I'd suggest cat6 because it is faster and is literally the same price.
