Computer automatically bringing up windows explorer

So, on my mom's computer, it is automatically bringing up windows explorer repeatedly, in a random fashion. This is a windows 7 computer, and it has just recently begun doing this. It is bringing up both "search pc" and "this computer".The only real ramifications i can think if this doing is annoying my family when they use the computer and eating a bit of ram,  the latter of which shouldn't be a problem, as the most this computer does is run minecraft for my sister on occasion. It has windows updater on. If anyone has any idea what could happen, my family would appreciate it
