Antivirus vs Internet Security programs

Go to solution Solved by Sirnaderibrahim,

Internet security is to block things for taking things like bank accounts etc. Antivirus stops current virus. And Anti-malware stops most virus. I have been told to get all three.

I am looking into buying an antivirus program for my PC and was looking at Kaspersky, since they seem to have a good reputation and I am not really into downloadable free/trial programs. However, while at an online store I found two kinds of programs, one called "Kaspersky Antivirus" and the other "Kaspersky Internet Security" which was a bit more expensive than the first one. Could someone explain to me the differences between these two and also suggest which of the two I should buy, taking into account that my computer is used mostly for gaming, browsing and downloading programs.

Thanks in advance!

Try to look at other options, just because something is free, does not mean it is bad. Malwarebytes antimalware is the best on the market and can be obatined for free with only online backups being disabled.

I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

Or stop being closed minded and take our advice?...

All I asked is for someone to tell me the differences between an Antivirus and an internet security program, why do you even care what I do? If you are not going to answer the ACTUAL question of this thread why are you replying?

As for Paid, the one I see reccomended on AV forums often is Eset NODE32 or Kaspersky - but there is no need for paid software these days.

i personally use Eset, ive been using them since they actually had a free version of the program. the benefit ive heard to actually paying for one, is better protection again 0day viruses. free versions can get their updates delayed by a couple days. (whether or not thats actually true im not sure). and paying for comodo at least is pretty sweet, since they have 24/7 live tech support (i paid for them once too)
