Windows 10 need help

Go to solution Solved by SlayerOfHellWyrm,

Get a key for 8.1, and install it (removing 10). 10 is still a preview, and will be for some time, and thus has compatibility issues, as well as a myriad of bugs. There's also the chance, albeit rare, that you could have 10 working just fine for like... ever, and then encounter a crash that'll corrupt all your data. (Yes, that can happen on all OS's, but it's a much, much higher chance on a preview build of Windows)

Hi guys

So I built my new computer specs are as follows msi x99 i75820k gskills ddr4 16 gb

Baisically I went to install windows 10 from a usb Figured I'd try the new software out so I did that ,partitioned the drive as it said installed it and it said to complete install restart your computer. So I did and now whenever I boot up it goes on to the screen I got when I first booted my computer up with the options troubleshoot or turn pc off so I went on trouble shoot tried to refresh the drives said they were locked tried to reset my pc said it was locked and recovery manage didn't do anything. My only boot options are

UEFI. OS (P4. : ST500DM002-1BD142)

SATA4. : : ST500DM002-1BD142

UEFI : Built-in. EFI. Shell

Enter Setup

What do /can I do to get it back to a fresh pc needing a fresh install of windows. I have windows 8.1 pro on a usb as well but I don't have a product key. Should I get a product key install windows 8.1 then remove windows 10?

I'm stuck and would really appreciate some help

Okay, so here is the kicker question. What do you want your end result to be? Both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 on the same system, or just one or the other?

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Just windows 8.1

Okay, do you not have a key to Windows 8.1 at all or is a situation where you need to get to a computer so you can retrieve it?

If that's the case, you can make a cfg file that wont require the key during installation but instead will make you do it once it is installed and running. If you simply don't have a key, then please purchase a copy of Windows or grab yourself a free operating system like Ubuntu or Fedora.

Please let me know which options you're interested.

Try to avoid G2A... it's shady as all hell. Just buy a known, legit key, that is not a re-sold VLK, or MSDNK, which can be revoked at any time.

I got 2 keys off of G2A a while ago for windows 8.1 pro and they have not given me problems.

I do advise the Key Guarantee thing for 2 bucks or something though, just in case.

Or buy Legit, because there is always the chance that it was stolen or fake.

And the fact you have to do that, or advise others to do so, implies they are not legit, which let's be honest... they really aren't for a lot of things. It's why they are in the news for gaming sites, and other tech sites often when they have a big snafu, like the Sniper Elite V3 incident

It's true and that's why I gave the warning, but they DO have some legit keys on there.
