so i bought a new motherboard and cpu today( asus z87-a motherboard and intel core i5-4690k cpu) and i have a nvidia geforce gtx 770 graphicscard. And when i booted my pc it looked like everything was fine, all the fans was running all the lightning worked but my monitor didn't show anything exept no signal detected.

so i tried changing port to the mother board insted of the graphicscard and it didn't work. i tried with hdmi vga dvi and it didn't work. so i tried changing to an old graphicscard witch didn't work either. i took out the ram blew on them, changed to an old ram and it still doesn't work. And btw this is my first time changeing computer parts so please help.

Did you check your cable to the monitor, have you tried another monitor?

how do i know if the power cable to the graphics card is seated corectly. I just checked and it looked like it was correct.

Also have you checked the power cable to the graphics card? make sure that is seated correctly, don't forget to check the psu and if your psu is modular. (Cables plug in both ends)

Thats about it really lol, you could just unplug it and plug it back in, if you do have a modular psu, check that the cable is plugged into the pcie port on the power supply just as a sanity check.

my psu is non modular and i took out my graphics card today when i tried to change to an old graphics card to try if that worked. and btw im really thankful for all the help.

no probs for the help although it hasn't been all that helpful lol see how you go with pulling out the graphics card tomorrow, may also be worth checking the cpu again to make sure that it is seated correctly, you will need some thermal paste as you will be disturbing the paste that is there. While you have the cpu out you can check the pins in the cpu socket all line up nicely and none look out of place.

Do you have anyone who can just double check everything for you? There may be something simple that you have missed if you are new to this, and someone who knows what to look for would be a great help. I take it you read the instructions for fitting the cpu, or at least watched a vid or two before jumping in.
