Hey people,

I'm just wondering what I can do to improve my build currently. Specs I'm running below.

CPU: i5 3570K (Stock, 3.4GHz)

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77-UD5H ATX
Memory: Vengence 16GB 1600MHz
Storage: Crucial MX500 500GB SSD, 2 x Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200RPM
Video Card: Gigabyte GTX680 2GB

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (not a big fan, red & white combo)

Power Supply: Corsair TX850W V2

Cooling: H100

Display: BenQ XT2420T 1080p, 120Hz

1. Budget & Location
£600 & UK. (could change budget if saved for a few months)
2. Aim
I feel my 680 struggling with GTA V & ideally I'd want to quieten down the system quite a bit as I find it very noisy at the moment. Should I invest in a noise dampening case, if so any suggestions?

3. Monitors
1, 1080p right now. 1440p in future.
4. Peripherals
Have KBM.
5. Why are you upgrading?

Want something quieter.

All of the kit minus the 500GB SSD is about 2 years old now.

Is it worth holding off and waiting for the 970 / 980Ti edition cards to come out before?

i5 3570K (Stock 3.4GHz)

Gigabyte Z77-UD5H ATX

Vengence 16GB (1600MHz I think)

Crucial MX500 500GB SSD

All of the kit minus the 500GB SSD is about 2 years old now. I'm wanting to upgrade to 1440p monitor in the future at some point. I feel my 680 struggling with GTA V & ideally I'd want to quieten down the system quite a bit as I find it very noisy at the moment.

Budget right now would be about £600 but that could change if I save for a few more months.

If you can then you should wait. I would think that the best upgrade would be a stronger gpu, like you said.

The seems to fit everything you want.

My main point is I want to quieten down the system somewhat. It's really noisy & I don't like it. Any suggestions? :)

I am not good at what makes less or more noise than other stuff.

(Other than the gtx 900 series gpus xD)

So I would rather leave it to the more experienced.

Perhaps the Corsair carbide 300r?

idk..
