i have r9 285 dual-x oc gpu, and i wonder if 1680x1050 widescreen is good for this card and run it at 100% ? or 1080p would be better? and doesn it really matter or i wont even notice it ? because there's an offer for 1680x1050 widescreen acer 22inch monitor for 500LE here in egypt and a 1080p benq 21.5inch full hd for 880LE, do you think it doesnt worth more 380LE for the 1080p and the card will be awesome on that 1050 one? and is there's anyway to turn the 1050p into 1080p by any software? thanks

1680*1050 is not really widescreen.

The price difference is pretty big between those two but if you can afford it I'd suggest the Benq 1080p monitor.

You cannot increase pixel count through software. Resolution(in this sense) refers to the number of pixels physically present in the display - you could use something like SSAA in certain titles to make the card render a higher resolution and then shrink it down to the resolution of your monitor, but that's it.

Yes you would.

1050x1680 = 16:10

1080x1920 = 16:9

the 1080p monitor would be better for everything imo.

There is very very little performance difference between 1050p and 1080p, just go for the 1080p monitor.

I have a 1050p monitor and a 1080p monitor, there is quite a big difference in how it looks, and the 1080p monitor is by far superior.

hey thats weird u said 2 things are opposite to each other.. u first said its very very little performance difference.. and then u say a big difference in how it looks and the 1080p is by far superior O.o

also if u are correct about the "very very little performance word" then i think 380LE doesnt worth it and should i go for the 1050p .. but please explain ur comment.

All the monitor does is display the image, the resolution that the monitor runs is what determines the resolution of the image the gpu renders.

Going from 1050p to 1080p will not have much impact on performance, but because of the wider aspect ratio than the 1050p monitor, it will look better for movies, videos, games, etc...

the 1050p monitor will have black bars on the top and bottom when watching videos or movies, the 1080p monitor will not.

Just get the 1080p monitor, trust me on this.
