My upgrade became available and my Moto X is starting to show its age so I was wondering if there were any phones out there that were worth upgrading to.

Most phones have gone big and I'm not a big fan of that, any of the new phones around the same size as the Moto X?

Other than that I'm not very picky about what comes with the phone, a decent camera is always nice and no one likes a clunky OS skin.

Also no iPhones, I'd rather avoid that trauma.

What are your opinions?

Oh I'm a Verizon costumer.

Thanks.

Heyyo,

If you don't like big phones... avoid the Nexus 6 dude lol, she's a phablet in every sense of the word. Almost 6" screen hence the name Nexus 6. :P

Otherwise? Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 are of course the two most prominent flagship phones. The S6 is 5.2" screen so it's not massive... but it also has TouchWiz... albeit it's a very light skin compared to what it used to be. I'd check into unlocking the boot loader on it to install a CustomROM if you want to get away from skins all-together.

The HTC One M9 is an extremely minimal skin. I loved my HTC One M7 and HTC Sense UI isn't terribly different from stock Android in many ways, they just went about and did changes that tend to improve the phone. HTC's keyboard is better than stock as a prime example and it supports a ridiculous amount of emojis. Plus? The personal dictionary I miss... a lot... editing the keyboard prediction on SwiftKey isn't as good since I can't just look over a list and select what I don't want like I could on my HTC keyboard. :(

Otherwise? Tbh there isn't that much worth upgrading to... Meizu have some amazing Android phones but they're bigger as well nearing the phablet sized phones... is your Moto X the first or second generation? If second generation? To be honest I'd probably just hang onto that phone some more.

How can I tell which generation is it?

I want to say it's 1st since I got it shortly after they started rolling out.

I remember I had the guy at the store drive to the next city to get the one I wanted as payback for talking me into the edge program which I really didn't want to be a part of and I feel cheated since phones only got bigger and reduced my choices now that my upgrade is available...

sorry about the rant...
