Hyperx cloud for CSGO?

JorenBus

Hello all,

I'm about to buy the Hyperx Cloud gaming headset, and I'm wondering if this is fine for CS GO.

It doesn't have 7.1 surround, only stereo. I also don't have a sound card (that I know of).

Is this headset a good choice for CS GO, so that I can pinpoint footsteps etc?

Thanks

I have RAZER Electra and i play CSGO without a problem.

YOU DONT NEED 7.1 surround, just headphones. You'll get used to Stereo eventually. Yes the footsteps are surround even with Headphones

Alright, does anyone have experience with the Hyperx cloud? Would you recommend it?

I've read a lot of good reviews about it, and that it's really comfy.

I would not recommend getting the Cloud for CS:GO, since it has closed earcups. Getting headphones with open earcups allows you better pin-point sounds. I recommend getting the QPad QH-85, it's basically the same, but it has open earcups.

The only disadvantages however, are that there would be more sound leaking out of the headset, and the bass might not be as intense.

Well it's not like I'm going for global elite in CS GO, so I think this might be enough.

Also, I've been using speakers all this time in CS GO (that's right, no headphones) and I've been doing really well.

Neither do I, but after switching from the most generic gaming headset ever, to a proper open earcup design headphone, I could pin-point sounds at 99% accuracy, as opposed to around 20%.
