When you put in the DVD/USB make sure you press any key when the message pops up "Press any key to boot from USB/DVD".

I do then it goes to the black screen with the blue window logo and stays there

Are you installing to and SSD or a HDD? Are you using DVD or USB stick?

I will suggest that you have a bad download or USB Drive. Check this topic out, it will help make sure you have a nice copy that doesn't have any hangs on it.

OK, first off, have things been solved? I'm sure this is just a user error since this is your first time.

Secondly, explain everything that happens. You turn on the pc with the disk or usb drive in and then what?

Have you made sure that you configured the bios correctly and the boot options are in the correct order?

You can also change the boot order so that first is the DVD drive and change it back to other drives after starting the install process when the PC restarts.

Also, where did you get the DVD?
