Hi,

This question is mainly aimed at people from the UK but anyone can help :)

I was wondering what GCSE and A-Level grades you would need to get into the following jobs:

  1. Police officer
  2. Forensic computer analyst
  3. RAF Computer technician

Thanks.

For the police, I would personally suggest you do a degree first, probably in criminology or something like that, or go and work elsewhere for a few years, as the police rarely ever take on people these days under 20, that's what a number of my friends who want to join the police are doing.

For the RAF, a computing based degree such as CS, networking, ICT would be a good idea, as well as a computer or math based A level like Maths, Physics, ICT or computer science. I would assume the forensics computer analyst would require a fairly specific degree, or at the least a CS degree with maths based A levels. Any job to do with computers will require a Maths based A level and probably degree, due to the prevalence of numbers and calculations.
