Hey everyone, well I got this monitor 2 days ago and it truly is amazing. GSync is absolutely a must for gaming no questions asked. However prior to this monitor I was on a TN Panel, and this Acer monitor was my first IPS panel. Many reviews online about this monitor right now is a crapshoot on the build quality and since I have never owned an IPS panel I dont know if the "Glow" or "Back light bleeding" I am getting is normal or just a typical thing when using an IPS Panel? I dont see the cloudy glow or notice it unless obviously something dark is on the screen. But I have been replaying the Batman games and overall is a pretty dark game so I posted some pics and looking for opinions. I know my iPhone will overexpose the bleeding and it's not as bad as the pictures certainly look, but no doubt I can see the glow in the bottom right hand side. First picture is with 100% brightness, followed by 24% brightness. Then third picture is in-game, fourth picture was a picture taken during a video record.

EDIT: Sorry about the orientation of the pics, not sure how to fix it =(

That's quite hard ,

The XB270HU is known for backlight bleed , so there is no way around it ,

Normal monitors might have a bit less ( look at linus's reviews ) , but I don't think you will get better without changing screen model .

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

Ok, I guess what I wasnt sure about is this glow largely in part due to manufacturing quality? Or is this basically a typical thing to happen for IPS Based monitors?

It's an inherent drawback of LCD technology. The backlight can't be completely blocked.

The four corners of your screen are the backlight bleeding and unfortunately as has been mentioned, happens to nearly every modern monitor to greater or lesser degrees.

From your pictures it looks as if you have a little IPS glow but again as mentioned, this could easily be an effect from flash exposure or similar, it is hard to tell from pictures.

If the screen isn't bothering you during normal use, then I'd say it's just how it is. You'll have to say whether or not it's doing anything out of the ordinary (other than the pictures you posted of BLB and IPS glow)
