Upgrading my rig

Hey guys, 

 

I need a bit of help with my next upgrade of my rig. I mainly use my pc for gaming and I really would like to have a good pc up and running when Witcher 3 or Star Citizen come out.

 

The rig I have right now:

 

AMD FX-8120 @ 3.1Ghz

12Gb DDR3 Ram

GTX 770 by Palit

ASUS M5A88-V EVO

750W PSU

 

My thoughts were the following: I wait till Nvidia releases the new GTX 980ti in the end of the year.

But right now i thought of some constellation like this:

i7-5820K

G.Skill 16Gb DDR4 Ram

MSI x99s

 

Would you say that this is a worthy upgrade ? Or do you think that theres a better option for me ? 

And would you wait for the gtx 980ti and then buy it ?

You would be fine with a 4790k and a z97 mobo.

Welcome to the Forum. Your English is pretty good. And I'm listening to German music right now.

 

You're probably fine with a 4790k, and I'd spend what's left on replacing your power supply (depending on how old it is) and on graphics.

An i5 would be good. Unless you need those 2 extra cores in the 5820k

don't even look at the 4790k, in gaming it will be the same as an i5
