I need a 32gb of ram because with only 8gb currently I am experiencing a lot of crashes do to not having enough ram. I run a lot of plugins.

Right now I run a mobo that supports ddr2 so I need to completely upgrade my rig. What is the best price to performance rig?

What would be better for a minecraft server?

You don't need 32GB of RAM for a server, a vanilla server doesn't need much RAM at all, you could probably get away with allocating 4GB to it, as I doubt your server is all that big. (My tekkit classic server can handle 15+ players on at once with only 2GB of RAM.)

The E3-1270V3 is the better choice.

Also, those processors are LGA 1150, whereas the mobo you picked is LGA 1155, they will not work together, chose a different mobo that is LGA1150, and you also don't need a server motherboard, a regular consumer board would be just fine, though it probably won't support ECC. (Which I doubt the ram you get would support anyways)

Give me a budget and I will put a list together for you. (Also I need to know what parts you already have for it.)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I have used hosts many times before and I just don't like pay per month thing, I'd rather host it at home were all I have to do it pay for the electricity.

I have 8GB and 56 plugins including dynmap (which takes up A LOT of ram). I checked my ram usage on ubuntu and whenever the server starts up, the usage starts of 2gb used and then it exponentially grows until it hits 7.9Gb of ram and then CRASH! The server restarts.

Also thank you, I will choose the E3-1270V3

(Oh shit, I didn't even see the cpu and mobo wasn't compatiable.)I was just focusing on getting a low power xeox mobo that I didn't even pay attention to the socket type. Can you recommend me any CHEAP LGA 1150 MB that supports 32gb of ddr3?

Also I don't have a budget right now I am just trying to set myself a goal and after I collected enough money from donations I will purchase the items, but I don't want the item's to be ridiculously overpriced is all.

Sounds to me like your server has a bit of a memory leak.

If you're using bukkit for the server, try switching to spigot, it has some tools that can help with reducing memory usage.

With 32GB of RAM:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($88.98 @ Newegg)
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($44.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $723.42
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

With 16GB of RAM (I'd suggest this one)

Ty I only needed the 32gb build though and I will just reuse my parts other then the cpu, ram, and mb.

I have spigot already and how would I check for memory leaks?

Not exactly sure how you would check, but mainly it is when memory isn't being freed up for other things once it is done being used.

Could be some of the plugins causing it, I'd suggest removing any that you don't really need.

Sounds good. Also is this a very low power consumption build?

Yes, max power consumption should be around 175w, which should not be an issue at all.
