UEFI BIOS asks for password?

Hi,

 

I'm trying to work on a friend's gaming rig and I cannot even access the BIOS - it asks me for a password. Problem is, I'm the one who buit the computer and installed everything, and I'm 400% confident that I didn't set up a password for the BIOS. The guy isn't too good with computers so I doubt it's him who did this.

 

What could have caused this, and how can I reset it?

 

For the record, the mobo is an ASUS Z87-A.

Take out the battery on the motherboard. Wait for a few seconds and put it back. It should reset the bios to factory settings.

Reset the CMOS.

by default it should be four spaces

Yeah, reset the CMOS. If there is one (but i'm pretty sure they don't use them anymore) take out the password jumper, then I think everything should be fine.

Turns out, the guy did set up a password, only he can't remember it.

 

I'll trying resetting the CMOS. Thank you all for the suggestion!
