Amazon Shipping Question

I pretty much need a clarification. When I buy an item from Amazon, the seller, does that mean that the product is in the warehouse and they could easily get it ready to ship, or do they have to wait for it to come to their warehouse so they can send it? I ordered a mouse and was wondering that if Amazon ships it, they ship and it comes this week on Friday or before, does that mean that the warehouse already has the mouse and other products that I ordered?

It depends, if there is Prime shipping avaliable, it ships usually straight from there (I think), and it will take 1-8 days max usually depending on the shipping speed.

If it doesn't, chances are it has to ship from wherever it ships from, and may take 3 up to 2 months. (edit: may be some other 3rd party retailer, or a retailer affiliated with Amazon)

It depends on the situation. Amazon acts as a middle man for smaller companies and or stores. "Usually" when it says you're buying from Amazon it's already in their warehouse. But in some rare cases it will come from smaller companies and or stores as I stated above.

Anything "fulfilled by amazon" comes from their warehouses, even from third party sellers because many of them rent space from amazon's warehouses.

yup, their typical warehouse is at least 1million sq ft
