Hey guys! I was wondering, has anybody tried the technical preview of Windows 10 on their NAS systems? If so, what is the performance like in comparison to W8 or W7?

I'm planning on building a NAS soon and will be purchasing Windows 8.1 as my OS and am just curious on the differences.

You probably shouldn't be using a beta OS on a device you're trusting with (potentially) important files... :/

Specs: CPU: AMD FX 6300 Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A DS3P RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 1866MHz GPU: MSI R9 270 OC edition Case: Sharkoon VS3-S SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HDD: 1TB Caviar Blue PSU: Corsair CX500W

*If I say something that seems offensive, please don't take it seriously, it was most likely meant as a joke/sarcastically*

pft, using a client OS on a file store... what are you going to do if you need 16,000+ concurrent connections?

In all honesty, it should work the exact same as windows 7, 8, 8.1. just might have an options moved slightly in the control panel. Share and NTFS permissions are going to be found in the same locations, and do the same thing.
