Planning my first computer build.

Hi guys, been working on a parts list for my upcoming build. Have been researching for years now on how to build and how to select certain parts for particular uses. This will be my first build, finally have enough money to put into it. My budget is right around US $1100. Here is a list of what I had in mind. I would really appreciate any feedback at all, whether or not the parts will work well together, or maybe some changes I could make in order to save a little money on one part and use it for another. The budget does not include peripherals. I will be buying a screen a little while after the build has been completed. Looking for a nice 24 or 27 inch screen, and recommendations would be much appreciated.  I will be using this machine mostly for gaming, nothing crazy, just one screen at 1080p for now. Maybe a little video recording and editing as well. 

 

-OS: WINDOWS 7 - $90

-MOBO: MSI Z87-GD45 - $150

-GPU: MSI N760 - $250

-SSD: Samsung MZ-7TD250BW 840 250GB - $175

-CPU: Intel i5 4670k - $200

-RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR - $75

-PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M2 RS620-SPM2E3-US 620W - $95

-CASE: Have not decided on a case quite yet

 

I more than likely need to purchase an aftermarket cooler for the cpu and still need to decide on a case so I wouldn't mind bumping the budget up to US $1200. Also I know I didnt include a storage drive. I will be adding one at some point. To me, I feel like I could do better than the parts list for $1200 but maybe not. Like I said, this will be my first time doing this so I'm all ears. Thank you very much guys.

Looks good to me, buddy. For the aftermarket cooler, best thing in your budget would be the Hyper 212+ and that should give you a remainder for a decent case; Define R4 maybe? ;D

seems like a good build for your cooling I would recommend the swiftech H220 or Corsair H100i if you can stretch the budget. case would you like a windowed case or one with no window what colour etc will help us all find you a case recommendation.

or you could go with HDD first and put beefier gpu inside :)

ssd prices are droping anyway.

if you are not planning for SLI in future, its better to have one more powerful gpu.

Comments on your build:

The GD45, although a great motherboard, can probably be replaced with a cheaper mobo that would do everything you need.

Yeah man, the 212 is more than likely what I will be going with until later down the road when I plan on getting a self contained water cooling solution. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey, I'm going for a red/black theme so I would like a black case, has to be black on the inside. Cannot stand when its grey on the inside, black on the outside. I would like to have a side window but its not a huge deal if I don't get one.
