Ok, probably about to buy 8gb of xms3 1600mhz, 4x2gb sticks.

I currently have 4gb of corsair value ram, 1 stick.

Will i gain more performance by filling my 4 slots with the xm3 at 1600, or filling 3 with xm3 and one with my current ram, for a total of 10gb at 1333? I am guessing the former however thought I would check.

Cheers.

You'll hardly gain performance. Dual channel vs single channel performance differences is pretty negligible unless using an APU, but there will be a slight performance gain from filling all 4 slots with the same size/speed RAM.

tl;dr: Fill all with same size, same speed, RAM.
