I gotten a Dell 520S equipped with an LGA 775 Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E5200, 4GB of RAM, unknown graphics (I'm not able to check because OS needs a reinstall), 500GB HDD, some Packard motherboard, a 250W PSU.

It's a pretty neat desktop, I'm just debating on what I should do with it.

You could send it to me (dead serious)

Or you could use it as a server or media center pc

Make it a router with Wi-Fi that keeps your PCs safer.

I don't have a wifi card with this desktop, could I use ethernet to my primary desktop with WiFi for this? I'm actually quite interested in this.

Basically, I have my router in the living room and my two computers in my bedroom. If I connected Ethernet to the desktop to my primary desktop, would the Dell desktop use my primary desktops wifi for this? Would it impact my primary desktops wifi connectivity if I made my Dell a router?

You would connect your motum directly to the old PC then have a networking card hocked up for your wired connections and a WiFi networking card for your Wi-Fi connections.
