750W PSU

Go to solution Solved by Griffscavern,

Thanks, Ill defiantly have a look. I think what Ill do is give him a few choices and he can choose based on what he likes.

Sorry for so many posts, but here is a list that breaks down psu's by tier. Tier 1 (best) tier 5 (avoid entirely)

Hi guys.

So I recently purchased a PSU for myself after recommendations and learning a bit about them I went with the Cool Master V450S which is plenty for me. That said my brothers kids PSU just bombed. He wanted me to buy a PSU and install it for him. I was thinking about the cool master V750S as I am more then happy with mine but wanted to get peoples opinions as I have only had mine for 2 weeks and I always make triple sure about products before spending other peoples money.

The reason I went with 750 is the kid doesn't mind throwing money at his rig, he is 15 and already has a 980 in there from working (good on him I say) and is thinking about a second one. He is however not strictly a Nvidia fan so I wanted to give him enough grunt for switching in the future. Modular or semi modular does not bother him. He wants a solid PSU without playing though the nose for features he never will use.

He was thinking of the corsair RM 750 but I have seen on some sites that they say steer clear of that PSU for different reasons. what do you guys think is the Cool Master V750 a good choice? While I am open to suggestions of course nothing over 200 AUD (156 USD).

Thanks

Another great PSU is the evga supernova g2 750 watt. Here in the States it costs a little over 115 bucks, but fluctuates a lot. It has a 10 year warranty and I will link you to a review in a bit..

Edit:

The review:

It's always a good day if you woke up breathing.

There is also seasonic psu's, xfx psu's and evga gs series. Avoid the corsair. They are usually overpriced for what you get.
