This is my first pc build so I'm not very good with computers but I want to build a gaming pc that can run any game at max settings, 60 fps, 1080p. I'm wondering if this is a good pc build or if there is a way I can save money and still get good performance. I still need to buy the OS so I'm trying to reduce the overall cost to about $1000 . I could really use some advice/suggestions.

Thank you.

Thank you.

For a first time build, you did pretty good, though I'd suggest getting a different motherboard. Nothing wrong with Asrock, I just usually recommend using them when not in budget builds I.E. the Extreme4 and up. For your build I suggest the MSI Z97-G45.

welcome to the forums!
to me it looks a really solid build. but you didnt mention that you will be doing any ocing so you could ditch the K-skew i5 and get a cheaper one. Also, from my personal experience asrock tent to fail on me so i would recommend swapping that out for a msi or asus or gigabyte. In addition, you could get away with a 650w or even 550w psu. That's all i got:P

CPU:  i7 5820k  @4.0Ghz Cooler: Thermaltake Nic C5 Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI PLUS  Ram: 8 gb @2133Mhz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 @1560  Case: Proprietary Sun Ultra 24  Storage: HyperX 120gb & 1 TB WD Green PSU: Cooler Master 550w

Great build just not digging the color scheme I'd get an s340 red and a fatal1ty motherboard also red ram sticks would go better than black ram sticks if the color scheme is red. If the color scheme is blue ditch the msi graphics and get evga or asus. Blue ram and an extreme 4 motherboard.

Thank you.

For the OS, check out /r/microsoftsoftwareswap. You'll save quite a bit ($60) there.

I'd up the HDD to 2tb though, for an extra $20-25 it's a no brainer considering how big games are now, and that you'll save cash on microsoftsoftwareswap. Definitely do it if you have movies to store.

Everything else looks great; you could get a different MOBO though as you're not incredibly budget-oriented and could get a better one, and you can get it to match the color scheme you got going with the GPU.

I don't do signatures.
