my friend wanted to upgrade his laptop's HDD to SSD

and model is ASUS K53S

 

so the question is " how to clone his system on to his new SSD before switching?"

 

Or is there another way of swtich the SSD in first and then boot from HDD and migrate the data on to the SSD? If so, how can we connec that HDD/SSD to the laptop when it's remove from the laptop?

I think Samsung has a kit that cost a bit more if you buy a Samsung 840 ssd that gives you a kit that can copy your entire HDD to the SSD.
