Hello everyone!

I have two Western Digital Black 2 terabyte hard drives that are not in any form of raid. I have one set as my "Play" hard drive where I store where I store my games, movies, and other forms of entertainment. As for the other 2 terabyte hard drive, I'd like to store secure files and data in. I just want to figure out how I can encrypt, secure, or password the hard drive upon attempted access to it. For example, for any common hard drive, you go into explorer in Windows, find the said drive, click on it, and explore away. If you were to click on my secure drive attempting to access it, I'd like a prompt would come up requesting a password or some form of security check. If not that, is there another way that I can make it secure and easy access for myself and make it difficult or impossible for others to access it?

Thank you.

Hey TankyTev,

You can use the built-in feature in your OS to create a software encryption which is pretty secure. There are also a number of third-party software applications that do software encryption. You can also look into some hardware parts to your system that do hardware encryption.
