my issue is pretty much what the title says... every time i plug in my c920 webcam it says "USB device not recognized". every once in a while it will work flawlessly for about 5 minutes or 10 if im lucky (im usually not) but then it will just shut off and no longer work. i have tried several different usb ports some 2.0 some 3.0 and the problem still persist. the only help the logitech support (which is horrible BTW) has provided me is try plugging it into another computer, which i have and it works fine on another computer. so if you know of any fix please let me know and bare with me also because im not very tech savy.

also system specs are:
windows 8.1 x64
i7 4790k
EVGA 970 SC
8GB DDR3
and an MSI z97 mobo

there is no drivers there is only the Logitech webcam software and i did download that but it still doesnt work

well then it seems like a problem with your windows installation or motherboard

when was the last time you did a clean install? did you change any parts since then?

try reinstalling your motherboard USB drivers and device drivers for the c920 in the windows administrator tools device manager
