So i get home from work at about 11pm and get my pc to turn on, its been in sleep mode for the whole day since about 3am earlier in the morning. The moment i wake it up, it goes for about 30 seconds then it simply just turns off, i took the GPU out and tried using 1 DIMM at a time and its still not even booting up or even showing the motherboard splash screen. What should i do next?

Say a prayer :P

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

- Cave Johnson, founder and CEO of Aperture Science, in Portal 2

pull the AC cord out the back. Take the CMOS battery out of the motherboard (coin battery). Leave it for a good 10 mins and put the battery back in and try to boot and see how that goes.

Tried that, same thing still stuck in the booting sequence

take out the GPU and see if you can boot with the IGPU. If that fails take out more things like 1 RAM dimm etc.

already tried that as well. even the single DIMM. still same issue...

Windows 8 or 7?

last time my system was in a booting loop it was overclocked with too little voltage on the CPU core, i layed a screw onto the clear cmos pins and booted up my system, my overclock was undone and my system worked ;)

hmm... that could be the issue although my CPU seemed ok running at 4.4Ghz with 1.25V through it. heck its been running that overclock for about 2 weeks just fine. ill try it out later

For now put your suggestions here, I need my sleep as its nearly 5am Saturday in Melbourne and I've been at it for 6 hours trying to figure out the issue. I'll get back to the topic later when I wake up
