Does anyone know if I will be able to use my DDR3 RAM when I switch to a skylake CPU? I plan on getting 16GB DDR3 now, I don't want to have to buy 16 GB of RAM twice.

Read the LTT Beginner's Guide; it's like a guide on how to not be a moron

What's you're CPU right now?

Skylake will be DDR3/4, but I doubt there's info on how that'll work. It'll probably be up to the mobo manufacturer like it was with ddr2/3

Maybe.

Intel is pushing the UniDIMM, which would not work with normal DDR3 DIMMs (or DDR4 DIMMs for that matter). But motherboard vendors might be able to pick their own combination of memory slots, between UniDIMM, DDR3 DIMM and DDR4 DIMM.
