Phenom ii x6?

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

It's decent enough. Most chips can overclock up to 4.0GHz and keep up with modern processors fairly well. In games which leverage all 6 cores I've found it to be almost as good as an i5-2500K at the same clocks, but it does fall behind somewhat in single-threaded games. Still pretty good though.

thinking about switching out my Athlon 760k for a different processor to tie me down until 2016.. so I found the Phenom ii x6 1090t. I was not around for am2 so I am very unknowledgeable about the socket and this cpu specifically. How does this processor hold up for gaming and a little productivity/multitasking?

 junker build in the making
