Can HD 4000 do PhysX?

According to GPU-Z my onboard HD 4000 graphics is capable of PhysX. I don't think it's capable even if it has the compute capability simple because it's not a Nvidia GPU.

It can do it but not very well as in your fps will take a massive hit.

If you have an Nvidia GPU in your PC - you can choose for physx to be handled by the CPU, or by the GPU - there is not necessarily a best answer it depends on the game and your pc set up but normally its best to have the nvidia GPU to handle it unless the GPU is being heavily taxed

 

I normally just turn physx off as its pretty useless

CPU physics are extremely poor, even if you have the latest CPU. PhysX are useless apart from few games and you don't notice it THAT much, so I'd recommend turning it off.
