So my brother came up to me today and wants to start PC gaming. He is on a tight budget of around 600-700. He will be going to college next year so are there gaming laptops/one he can use for college in that priece range?

get one of the new haswell based laptops as they have much longer battery lives due to using a lot less power.

Mini-ITX AMD APU build. And a cheaper thin and light laptop for his other work.

 

If he has a monitor already, this is probably the best way to go.
