Trouble with boot. Please Help ;(

Go to solution Solved by L.E.D,

Yes and I think that would be the best thing to do in this situation. Thank you guys for your time, help and suggestions. I will try another motherboard and see how it will work.

No problem, it does suck that it came to that but it does happen sometimes

Hi guys, I have trouble with my computer and I can't find anything that would help me anywhere. The problem that I have is that my computer will not boot up after i shut it down. The fans start to spin for a second and everything stops working. To start the computer I have to turn off the power supply with the switch on the back, then wait for 10 or more minutes before starting it again. Sometimes the computer will not even boot up after that so i have to take one of the components out and then place it back (it doesnt matter which one) after this computer starts up fine. That is really strange for me. I thought it was the memory but I already replace these and check them in my friends computer and they were running fine. The same story with the power supply which I have also checked in other computer. I just don't know what else I can do.

My PC:

-CPU i5-2400 3.1 turbo 3.4 not oc stock fan (running very hot also don't know why 70-95C idle)
-Kingstone HyperX Beast Series 8GB
-Motherboard Gigabyte B75-D3V Ultra Durable 4
-GPU GTX 660 from EVGA 2GB (very cool and quiet no more than 60C)
-PSU EVGA NEX650G 650W (cool and quiet)
-Storage SSD OCZ Agility 3 60GB

I really need help with it, I'm exausted finding out that after most of the components were replaced or bought new, I still can't run the computer properly. I would appreciate if you could explain what to do in details because I'm not so good with the computers as you can probably see by what components I chose. Excuse my bad english if anything didn't make sense to you.

Thank you for any sugestions.

The only thing that is left that makes sense to me is the motherboard it's self ..

EDIT

Or is it your HIGH CPU temps ?

It's summer and its very hot so that might be the reason for the cpu to run at high temps, specially when I have stock cooler. The thing about these hight temperatures is that al tho 'core temp' (which I use to see the temps of cpu) shows high temperature, the radiator is preety cool when I touch it. But can the hight temp of CPU affect the boot of the computer? I will also have a look at the motherboards.

Heat sink* Not radiator. I doubt it's your CPU temps causing it. How hot is it in the room it's sitting in?

If it is quite warm that was a thought I had, I am not 100% sure of that though, If you let it cool down for a day or two then try to boot and it still happens I would suggest to look at the motherboard.

Sorry, like I said my english is not very good so I wrote the first thing that came up to my mind, and my room temp at the moment is about 35 - 40 celsius.

My bad. That would drive up the temps a bit, but not likely enough to cause the CPU to become too hot to boot.

I over estimated just wait a couple hours, then try it, and as it was said it most likely isn't that anyway.

When you try starting up your system, it usually just shuts right off, correct?

Is there a chance that something actually show wrong temperature of CPU because like I said earlier the heat sink is not worm and I would expect it to be hot if the CPU is running at 90 degrees.

It could be that the cooler doesn't have a good bond with the CPU, If it isn't even warm and your CPU is it 90° then I would be a little skeptical about that.

The reason your temps are high not for it not turning on.

Yes, the lights on the case light up for a second and all of my fans also spin just for sec and then it stops. But when I try to turn the computer on straight away nothing happens. I have to wait 10 or more minutes and if that doesn't work i have to take one of the components out and put it back in. It doesnt matter which one, it could be memory, HDD or GPU. After doing that the computer starts normally. That is really strange.

Would you try taking out the power supply and jumping it?

I think the cooler is set up well, it doesn't move at all and the thermal paste was new.

Alright then I out of ideas for that.

I have done that and I have tested my computer with 2 other psu. There was no change in the behavior of my system, I still had to go over the process of waiting and shifting components.

You might want to elaborate on that.

Meaning, my idea of the power supply being the cause isn't right, and that we haven't solved the issue yet.

Can you RMA the board?

Unfortunately I can't because my warranty ended 4 months ago.

Great timing huh... Is it possible to buy another board see if that is the issue and if it is not you can just return it ?
