Hello everyone!

I'm looking to over clock my system. Here are my specs.

  • CPU - AMD FX-8350
  • Motherboard - MSI 970 GAMING (MS-7693)
  • GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
  • Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo

Right now I'm using Prime95 with my CPU clocked at 4.2gHz and my temps are

  • CPU - 39-43c
  • Motherboard - 35c
  • GPU - 30c

How much further do you think I can go up? I haven't changed any voltages.

I'm not sure what the Hyper 212 is capable of on an FX chip. So I would suggest keep bumping the clock until instability occurs, then up the voltage. Do this as long as your temps in P95 are ~70 or below on the CPU. Since real-world usage will not drive your CPU to those temps. For reference, I run my CPU at 4.8 GHz with 1.45v

Quite a bit further, I can't say for stablility as you might need to add some voltage to keep stability. Those temps look really good.

I just got a blue screen after clocking it to 4.3 and running Prime95. When increasing voltages which voltage do I increase? Also what is CPU-NB frequency? Do I increase that as well? Here is a picture of my BIOS

That CPU voltage thing, bump it up to 1.3 and see if you have stablility.

These crashes are not gonna harm your hardware, so don't worry about them.

Not familiar with AMD so I've never seen a CPU-NB before, but I don't think its necessary to increase it.

That's not supposed to do that....

What temperature do you think I should stop when testing Prime95? Im at 4.6gHz and around 1.41volts getting up to 60-63c well running Prime95... I feel like I should stop now

Anyway if you have a good chip and cooler you should be able to reach 4.6-4.8 GHz without too much trouble.  I recommend slowly adding voltage only as needed.

Also I would recommend measuring temps with something like AIDA 64 or Cinebench as the stress test rather than prime95.
