Corsair K70 RGB keyboard

Hi all;

I live in England and I've found the K70 RGB in Cherry MX Brown switches. However, I've found 2 different models. One K70 has the normal Corsair logo, the one with the sails, and the other has the Corsair Gaming logo. Is there a difference in both or are they identical? 

Also, this will be my first mechanical keyboard and I was wondering if it's a good one to start with? I'm a gamer but I also type a lot of reports because I'm a university student. Are MX Brown switches a good choice?

Both models of the K70 are the same, one with the older logo and one with the newer logo, the only reason the one with the Sails logo exists is because of a recent petition to bring back the old logo, since some users found the new logo ugly and unprofessional. I would personally go with Browns, since I like the tactile feedback.

The only difference is the logo. Choose whichever one you thinks looks better. I think Cherry MX Browns are a great choice.

If there is such a thing as "real" mechanical switches, I would argue that Cherry switches have more claim to that title than the ones Razer makes.

corsair has better build quality.

I try to avoid Razer products, they feel cheaper than other products.

Razer fanboy? I think so! You should take a look at the K70. It Is amazing. Best keyboard ever.

Brown switches are quieter than most and are fairly close to the feel of rubber dome switches. If you share space with others, the former is a good quality to go for. The K70 is solid. If you are looking for a firm click for feedback on the keys, then brown won't fit the bill as well as other Cherry switches.

 

If you're an avid gamer you may prefer a faster actuation time from one of these switches: Logitech Romer-G, Steel Series QS1 (mfg Kaihua), Topre Novatouch. There is a premium to pay for KB's with those switches :( Hopefully Logitech will release a normal keycap board with the Romer-G switches that doesn't cost so much. If they don't, I'd say that Logitech is out of the keyboard business because their only other mainstream mech board, the 710, snaps keycap plastic under normal use.

I preordered my K70 RGB and got one with the old logo and love it. After 3 months I tried my friends razer chrome and it felt cheap, flexed, and didn't have the same button feel  even though they were both cherryMX Red.
