CPU Temperatures

Go to solution Solved by Samfisher,

Yes it is accurate.  The 212 as mentioned above is a pretty good air cooler.

Hello, I am using an i7 4790k with a stock cooler. I was rendering a video in premier pro (first time with this cpu) and I was using real temp gt and my temperature hit 100 degrees C on one of the cores. Real temp Gt jump from about 85 to 90+ to 85 then 90+ etc. I was wondering if it was accurate (I have done a sensor test) it goes down to 20-30 degrees C fairly quickly (under 5 minutes) so I wonder if it is accurate and if anybody could recommend a more accurate temperature monitor it would be very helpful (thank you). I will have to get a cooler but I am wondering if I have done any damage to my Cpu, I cancelled rendering straight away on both attempts; I only reached 2% both times before it was too hot :(

Any suggestions on coolers, have a small budget of around 40 pounds (I need to buy isopropyl alcohol aswell)

Thanks for your help.
