Hi, I am a owner of a MSI 970, max tdp is 110% max, with my overclock, it goes up to 114% so it throttle a little bit on 3dmark11 but in some games it doesnt exeed 110% really, does it matter when its a little bit higher 110% ? I can see a huge performance anyway so, is this a problem ?

I put a 124% power limit on my friend's 980 and OCd it as all hell.

 

As long as your PSU has enough power and you can afford a higher power bill you can increase the power limit.

With the 970 msi, I can slide up to 110% max but my overclock exeed that room, does it matter, it can throttle because of that, but I dont feel like loosing performance when it does
