High CPU Usage

It is normal for my CPU to be using 80-90% of its resources when playing GTA V? I have an intel i5 4690K, which is above the CPU recommended. I get decent framerates (60+ FPS on the settings I currently have).

I was wondering because my game occasionally crashes after 30 minutes of gameplay. I was wondering if high CPU usage has to do with it.

@Kopacetic

Yes, its normal.  Very CPU dependent game.

Crashing on the other hand, no, that is not normal, but I don't think high CPU usage and crashing are related.

That is good to hear. I do not know why it keeps crashing. Many people have the same problem, and some concluded that it because of the latest patch. I do not know, but I really want to play GTA V without crashing.

I don't personally own GTA V, so I can't comment on that.

So this is a common thing since the most recent patch?

What is the rest of your system?  Are temperatures ok?

Very nice build.

I dont think it is hardware related, at least nothing points to that. If you say this happened because of the most recent patch, that is likely the cause.

Well. It started crashing today... and the patch was released today. So it is probably the patch. my game haven't crashed yesterday....

but then again, other people have it working... like the streamers.

Can you try a different game, see if the crashing happens?

I usually play the Talos Principle, and that game doesn't crash after playing 30 minutes of it.

Hm... then something might be wrong with your system.  Unless if that game also has a history of crashes.

There was a typo. I meant to say it doesn't crash.

Then it's likely GTAV patch related.
