The second build simply because you want to do some productivity.

Gaming wise, the GTX 970 and R9 290 are pretty much the same. But with the second build, you have an i7 which will be a whole lot more productive. If you do go with the second build, I would recommend getting 16GB RAM instead if you do any professional work

First build. I would assume you'll spend more time gaming than doing productivity, but if I'm wrong second build. Both builds will do well for both productivity and gaming though, so it's just down to what you do more often.

I'm a fucking AMD kawaii weeaboo desu I have seen the light

The 4790k seems to perform a little bit better. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Xeon-E3-1231V3-vs-Intel-Core-i7-4790Kand i also entered specs on Game Debate for BF4 and the i7 had an increase of 40% over the Xeon.

I would do a mix of them, use a GTX 970, with the 4790K on either motherboard, either case is fine, and either PSU is fine. Well I just changed the GPU on the second one I guess... I made that WAY To complicated didn't I...

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 Motherboard: MSI B550 Tomahawk RAM: 32Gb DDR4  GPU(s): MSI 6800-XT Case: NZXT H440 Storage: 4x 250gb SSD + 2TB HDD PSU: Corsair RM850x with CableMod Displays: 1 x Asus ROG Swift And 3 x 24" 1080p Cooling: H100i Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Mouse: Corsair M65 RGB Sound: AKG 553 Operating System: Windows 10
